Life – A sculpture capturing the sprawling movement of life begun, life flourishing, life struggling.
New Leaf – A sculpture created by reassembling a wooden block. The block was cut three different times. Each cut representing a difficult change. The reassembled form represents the ability to be fluid and adaptable when change is necessary.
Deep Brown Study – My first work to be featured at the Foster Gallery at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. This work continues to be central in my artistic journey. The three colors that resonate around the head-form represent wonder, creativity, and perception.

Life Drawing, Lounge Pose – There’s something inherently magical about the human form. The body is the ultimate subject when it comes to drawing. We are meant to draw people.
A curious still life featuring a prominent pear, sullen skull, and weird wine glass. As you might notice, I experimented with numerous textures and materials.
A fairly proportionate drawing of a model. I think what works best about this drawing is that the features of the face are the most rendered. Because of this, the face becomes the focal point and the suggestive marks in other areas work to the drawing’s advantage.

Dissolve – This painting represents the decay of promising things. Ideas, memories, friendships that fall apart as time marches on. The forward motion of these shapes represents their journey forward through time.

This cardboard noir-styled drawing is based off of a classic. Can you tell which one? I’m fascinated with the relationships that we have with other people. Why is it that we can surround ourselves with all kinds of people, have deep and meaningful relationships, yet still feel like we’re alone in the universe?
An acrylic still life painting. I enjoyed painting the dramatic light and colors in the fabric. The light/shadows of this piece are definitely the strongest features.
